A 48-year-old teacher was arrested in the province of Santiago del Estero this Wednesday, accused of sexually abusing a primary school student in 2023. The educator, who already had a record for similar incidents, had been suspended from his position in 2016 due to an accusation of abuse against another teenager.
The prosecutor's office took immediate action upon discovering the case, providing support to the victim and proceeding with the investigation. Information about the current abuses came to light during the process. The Control and Guarantees Judge, Gladys Liliana Lami, authorized the arrest at the request of prosecutor Florencia Garzón.
The family of the alleged victim filed the complaint after the girl revealed the details during a school meeting. The prosecutor's office considered the complaint a priority and acted quickly to ensure the safety of the minor.
