On January 23, the Deliberative Council of Santa Rosa, with 6 votes in favor and 4 absent within the block of the Justicialist Party, decided to withdraw the agreement that appointed Adriana Aveiro as legal advisor. Aveiro is the mother of the mayor Flor Destéfanis, which generated a series of threats of legal action against the councilors who promoted this measure.
According to the accusations, the councilors would have violated the law by calling special sessions outside the ordinary ones. Despite warnings on five occasions from the Office of Administrative Investigations and Public Ethics (OIAYEP) regarding the irregularity of the appointment of the mayor's mother, the Justicialist councilors believe that the withdrawal of support for Aveiro was delayed, inappropriate, and illegal, according to a statement presented by four of them.
Both OIAYEP and the General Audit of the Province had previously indicated that the municipal regulation contradicted the coherence and prevalence that should govern the provincial legal system, urging the restoration of legality through the repeal of the municipal regulation contrary to provincial laws.
