The Vicentin cereal company awaits a judicial verdict while four of its former executives remain detained for alleged fraudulent management. Amid this situation, Gert-Jan Mulder, former director of Rabobank Argentina, sent a letter to President Javier Milei expressing his concern that the case does not become a symbol of injustice.
Mulder emphasized the importance of legal certainty in Argentina, but also urged respect for the presumption of innocence and due process. He pointed out that the case, which is of great economic-financial complexity, should be treated with objectivity and knowledge. In his letter titled 'Letter in Defense of Roberto Gazze and Business Dignity', Mulder expressed his doubts about the fairness of the process, especially regarding Gazze, his personal friend for more than three decades.
In the communication, Mulder expressed his sorrow over Gazze's detention and warned about the ease of confusing fraud with business failure. He highlighted the importance of building trust and clear rules in times of crisis instead of seeking scapegoats at all costs. He also defended the business legacy of Vicentin, highlighting its track record as an example of the entrepreneurial spirit of Argentina.
Mulder supported Milei's efforts in the pursuit of economic freedom and institutional order, and requested that the Vicentin case not become a symbol of injustice. He expressed concern about the procedure applied in the case and advocated for listening to Gazze instead of condemning him in advance. He emphasized the need to guarantee the right to an effective defense and the prudence of the Justice system to avoid harming the honor of those involved.
