Mariano Werner, driving a Ford Mustang, was crowned winner of the final race of the thirteenth date of the Turismo Carretera, which took place last Sunday in San Nicolás. This achievement positioned him as a runner-up in the Copa Oro. On the podium, he was accompanied by Agustín Canapino, with a Chevrolet Camaro, and Germán Todino, in another Ford Mustang. Werner, 35 years old, is now in third place in the championship, behind Julián Santero and Mauricio Lambiris, both in Ford Mustangs, his teammates. Lautaro De La Iglesia, driving a Dodge Challenger and leader of the race, had a problem with his car near the end and had to retire, leaving Werner as the leader just when it seemed that De La Iglesia would take victory. Julián Santero leads the championship with 393 points, closely followed by Lambiris with 384 and Werner with 353.5, with only two dates left to compete. In the Copa Oro, Santero tops the table with 127 points, followed by Werner with 120.5 and Santiago Mangoni with 103. Diego Ciantini could not maintain his good performance from the last date and dropped to seventh place, after his victory in Paraná. Santero, despite finishing twelfth in this last race, remained at the top of the standings. These were the final positions in San Nicolás: 1. Mariano Werner (Ford Mustang). 2. Agustín Canapino (Chevrolet Camaro). 3. Germán Todino (Ford Mustang). 4. Jonatan Castellano (Dodge Challenger). 5. Valentín Aguirre (Chevrolet Camaro). 6. Marcelo Agrelo (Toyota). 7. Otto Fritzler. 8. Mauricio Lambiris (Ford Mustang). 9. Santiago Mangoni (Chevrolet Camaro). 10. Agustín Martínez (Toyota).
