Tragic shooting at motorcycle meeting in San Nicolás

Two young men were murdered early Sunday morning at a motorcycle gathering on the waterfront of San Nicolás de los Arroyos. The victims have been identified as 16-year-old Genaro Agustín Sandobal and 20-year-old Cristian Adrián Monsalves.

According to initial investigations, a teenager executed them during the gathering. Five bullets, a yoke (a tool used for stealing motorcycles), and two cell phones were found among the belongings of the deceased minor at the crime scene.

The attack occurred around 3:30 a.m. at the corner of Avenida Viale and Díaz Bancalari. Subsequently, the 20-year-old was rushed to San Felipe General Interzonal Hospital, where he died shortly after arriving. The minor made it to the same hospital on his own but unfortunately did not survive his injuries.

Authorities are investigating whether there were prior conflicts between the alleged attacker and the victims. Prosecutor Darío Giagnorio from UFI No. 13 in San Nicolás is in charge of the case, which was later transferred to the Juvenile Responsibility Unit, led by prosecutor José María Guadagnoli, after the age of the presumed material author of the murders was confirmed.

The Buenos Aires Police identified a 17-year-old with a criminal record for robbery and firearm-related injuries as the main suspect. Witnesses and security cameras captured how a youth approached the victims and struck Monsalves on the head with a .357 Magnum, which is presumed to be the murder weapon.
