Argentina's National Government met with agricultural associations to discuss infrastructure projects, regulatory changes, and the development of logistics in a key economic sector.


Government Meeting with Argentina's Agricultural Sector

On Tuesday, the National Government held a meeting with members of the Liaison Table (SRA, CRA, FAA, and CONINAGRO), where they discussed progress on the sector's main priorities. According to the Argentine News Agency (NA), the meeting took place on the second day of Expoagro. Representing the Liaison Table were members of the Argentine Rural Society; Andrea Sarnari (Argentine Agrarian Federation), Lucas Magnano (CONINAGRO), and Carlos Castagnani (Argentine Rural Confederation). For the seed sector, the agenda also included regulatory advances. Regarding the Salado River, the Coordinator Secretary of Infrastructure, Carlos Frugoniél, confirmed that its completion will be in February 2027 and reviewed the project's progress. Another point discussed was the status of the tenders for 9,000 kilometers of national roads, whose execution period is estimated to conclude in July 2027. On closing, Iraeta confirmed that in April the process will begin to concession the Belgrano Cargas, a "fundamental piece for agribusiness logistics." For the seed sector, the new regulation for genetically modified organisms (GMOs) was announced, and starting in April, the Electronic Seed Waybill (CPE Semillas) will be implemented, developed jointly by ARCA and INASE (National Seed Institute) to simplify transfer documentation and integrate the information systems of both bodies. The meeting was attended by the Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Sergio Iraeta; the Chief of Staff of the Secretariat, Martín Fernández; the Coordinator Secretary of Infrastructure, Carlos Frugoniél; the Undersecretary of Agropecuary and Forestry Production, Manuel Chiappe; and the Secretary of Transportation of the Nation, Fernando Herrmann. The topics addressed were the tenders for national roads and the progress of the works in the Salado Basin.
