The Government and the Investment and Foreign Trade Bank (BICE) announced on Tuesday the expansion of credits under the 'Valor producto' scheme, which had reached their limit. This will allow producers to maintain a quota based on their production volume. 'Valor producto: you pay the quota based on the number of kilos you produce. If the price drops, the loan is extended,' stated the Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock and Fishing, Sergio Iraeta. At Expoagro, the official explained that 'if a producer paid a quota for 300 kilos, they pay the same amount, regardless of whether the price goes up or down.' Joining Iraeta were BICE President Maximiliano Voss; the Secretary of Finance, Federico Furiase; and advisors from the Ministry of Economy, Felipe Núñez and Martín Vauthier.
