The Regional Unit Capital (URC) of San Miguel de Tucumán is conducting major operations involving all area headquarters, aimed at maintaining peace and public order in the community, following the directives of the relevant authorities.
Recently, during a preventive patrol in the Oeste II neighborhood, URC personnel, in collaboration with the Capital Motorized Patrol Division and the GEAM Division, intervened in a case of buying and selling illegal substances. Chief Commissioner Manuel Orellana, interim head of the URC, described the operation where they managed to arrest a suspect who attempted to flee and hide in a nearby building.
After a chase, the agents captured the individual hiding in the property and, upon searching him, found 16 packages of cocaine among his belongings. The Dangerous Drugs Directorate (DIDROP) of Capital confirmed that the seized substance was cocaine, highlighting the effectiveness of the operation.
Chief Commissioner Orellana emphasized the importance of such actions and announced that they will continue to carry out similar operations consistently to ensure safety in the area.
