A man was arrested in the Gobernadores Neuquinos neighborhood of San Martín de los Andes, in Neuquén, after attempting to murder his mother in the early hours of this Friday. The incident occurred around 3 a.m. when the man kicked in the door of his mother's house and knocked it down, causing a refrigerator that the woman had placed as a barrier out of fear to fall. He then took a knife and stabbed her several times, causing various injuries, before attempting to twist her neck again, without success. The other man in the house intervened and was also assaulted by the accused with blows to the face. The attack ended when the other woman in the house managed to escape to call for help. Minutes later, police arrived at the residence and arrested the man, who was hiding in the house's kitchen.
Inside the house, the victim was sleeping with her grandson, and two other people were there to accompany her due to repeated episodes of violence. Upon entering, the perpetrator attempted to twist his mother's neck and hit her.
Finally, with the man in custody, he was charged with attempted qualified homicide due to the relationship, in ideal conjunction with disobedience to authority, all as the author. In addition, it was requested that the accused be detained in preventive prison for two months, arguing the risk of flight, the danger of obstructing the investigation, and the need to safeguard the victim's integrity.
