The arrest operation was made possible through communications between the authorities of both countries. The Police of Misiones arrested a 29-year-old Brazilian criminal in the rural area of San Martín, who had an international arrest warrant in his country and is accused of multiple crimes and suspected in two homicides. The arrest of Leonardo André Frohlich occurred when agents from the Investigations Division of Regional Unit II conducted undercover operations and detected a white Ford Ranger pickup truck stopped on Provincial Route 103, at kilometer 20. “In the vehicle was a timber businessman from Corrientes and owner of the ranch in the area, who was accompanied by the fugitive, stating that he had asked him for work as a rural laborer,” highlights the police report accessed by the Argentine News Agency. Through an exchange of information with the Military Police and the Civil Police of Santa Rosa, it was confirmed that Frohlich has an extensive criminal record in Brazil, including three cases of robbery with dwelling damage, three simple robberies in homes, two qualified robberies, as well as cases for apprehension of objects, compliance with judicial warrants, and a valid criminal sentence. Likewise, authorities link him as a suspect in two homicides that occurred in Rio Grande do Sul. “After his identification, the fugitive was detained, examined by the police doctor and lodged in a police station of Regional Unit II, where he was made available to the Argentine Justice for the procedures of delivery to the Brazilian authorities,” they explained.
