The Union of Oil Workers and Employees of San Lorenzo Department and the Federation of Workers of the Oilseed Industrial Complex lifted the national strike after receiving a notice from the Ministry of Labor. The Ministry of Labor of the Nation urged the parties to maintain social peace and dialogue with the company Explora, which led to a scheduled meeting for Monday, March 17 at 2:00 PM at its headquarters.
The unions, in a statement, reaffirmed their rejection of all kinds of repression and reiterated their request for the reinstatement of workers who were unlawfully dismissed. They appreciated the support of workers, delegates, and management committees across the country, highlighting their rejection of repression and their strong commitment to defending labor rights.
The lifting of the work stoppage in all industrial complexes occurred after the labor ministry prioritized the issue, as indicated by union representatives. The decision to initiate the strike was made after announcing the presence of repression at the entrance of the Explora company, although a stoppage had already been declared previously in demand of salary adjustments for which the government had issued mandatory conciliation.
