In the eighth round of the Apertura tournament of the Professional League, San Martín de San Juan achieved their first victory by defeating Belgrano de Córdoba 3-1 at home. Belgrano took the lead with a goal from Nicolás Fernández, but San Martín turned the score around with goals from Tomás Fernández and Marcos Iacobellis. On the other hand, in Santiago del Estero, Central Córdoba drew 0-0 against Deportivo Riestra in a goalless match with some controversy at the end due to a disallowed goal for the visiting team, due to an alleged foul by Jonathan Herrera. Despite the draw, the result benefited both teams in the standings: Central Córdoba placed fifth in Zone A, while Riestra ended up in fourth position in Zone B.
San Martín de San Juan, after a poor start, managed to climb out of the bottom of Zone B with this victory, showing a remarkable improvement in their performance.
