First Witnesses Testify in Trial Against Judge Julieta Makintach

Tomorrow, the first witnesses are set to testify in the jury trial against suspended judge Julieta Makintach, concerning the scandal involving a documentary filmed during the hearings into the death of Diego Armando Maradona.

The first to testify will be the case prosecutor, Patricio Ferrari; police officers Mirta Daniela Barrionuevo, Itatí Romero, and Evelin Ayelén Andrada (who were guarding the courtroom); audiovisual producers Jorge Ignacio Huarte and Patricio Llados; cinematographer Ignacio López Escriva; and the Secretary of the Defense before the Correctional Courts, Mariana Rodríguez.

Also set to appear are the estheticist María Eva Pereyra (who attended to Makintach and admitted to sharing the trailer without the judge's authorization); the head of Communications and Media for the highest provincial court, Ezequiel Klass; and the Secretary of the Specialized Fiscal Unit for Cybercrime Investigation of San Isidro, Denis Ariel Banchero.

On Friday, the 7th, prosecutors Carolina Asprella and José Ignacio Amallo (members of the UFI #1 of San Isidro investigating Makintach) and Cosme Iribarren (the other prosecutor in the Maradona case) will testify; as will judges Maximiliano Savarino and Verónica Di Tomasso (members of TOC #3 who were in the nullified trial) and makeup artist Fabiana Molina Zuviria.

On Monday, the 10th, it will be the turn of Verónica Ojeda, Jana Maradona, and the lawyers Fernando Burlando (legal representative for Dalma and Gianinna), Vadim Mischanchuk (defending psychiatrist Agustina Cosachov), María Julia Marcelli (official defender of clinical doctor Pedro Di Spagna), and Rodolfo Baqué (a private victim in the criminal case and lawyer for nurse Dahiana Gisela Madrid).

On Tuesday, the 11th, Mario Baudry, Gastón Marano (lawyer for the guard Julio César Coria), Miguel Ángel Pierri (lawyer for the head nurse, Mariano Perroni), Félix Linfante (for Jana), Martín Miguel De Vargas, and Fabián Amendola will also testify.

One of the most anticipated sessions will be on Wednesday, the 12th, when Dalma and Gianinna Maradona; Julio Rivas (defending neurosurgeon Leopoldo Luque), who requested Makintach's recusal after the documentary footage surfaced; and the producers María Vidal Alemán and Juan Manuel D’Emilio are scheduled to testify. The round of testimonies will conclude on Thursday, the 13th.

The hearings will be held in two sessions: at 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM, according to the document obtained by NA.
