The trial for the death of Diego Armando Maradona has summoned a group of health professionals, including neurosurgeon Leopoldo Luque, psychiatrist Agustina Cosachov, psychologist Carlos Díaz, clinical doctor Pedro Pablo Di Spagna, nurse Ricardo Almirón, nurse coordinator Mariano Perroni, and the person responsible for managing medical care in home hospitalization, Nancy Edith Forlini. For her part, nurse Dahiana Gisela Madrid will face a jury trial later in the year.
In the context of the hearing that will be held at the Oral Criminal Court No. 3 of San Isidro, the alleged simple homicide with eventual intent of the former footballer will be analyzed. The director of the Olivos Clinic and the neurosurgeon who treated Maradona for the subdural hematoma will also give their statements during this legal process.
Regarding the situation, Pablo Dimitroff and Pablo Rufino, who performed the surgical intervention at the Ipensa Clinic in La Plata, have been summoned as witnesses in the trial. Dimitroff mentioned knowing Maradona's attending physician, Leopoldo Luque, and psychiatrist Agustina Cosachov during the patient's hospitalizations.
During his testimony before the prosecution, Dimitroff also referred to Nancy Forlini, with whom he works at Swiss Medical. According to his words, "we could not continue supporting a clinical hospitalization when the patient made it clear to us that he wanted to leave." The statements of these professionals are vital in the process that seeks to clarify the circumstances surrounding the death of the legend of Argentine football.
