One of the police officers who found Diego Armando Maradona dead at his home in the county party of Buenos Aires testified in the trial that he saw him very "puffed up." Lucas Rodrigo Borge, one of the four witnesses in the Oral Criminal Court No. 3 of San Isidro, described entering 'the Ten's' room and finding him covered with a white sheet, wearing sports shorts and a black t-shirt. "I remember he had a very swollen belly."
The officer in charge of the Villa La Ñata police station, Lucas Farías, arrived at Maradona's home after learning that the former player had suffered a medical emergency. Farías shared that Maradona's body looked like a "prominent lump" upon entering: "I entered the house and found Claudia Villafañe talking on the phone in the kitchen."
Juan Carlos Pinto, the doctor who confirmed the victim's death, and Collin Campbell, the neighbor doctor who assisted Maradona before the ambulances arrived, expressed their opinions during the judicial process. Pinto shared his perception of the situation, stating: "What happened is natural."
Regarding the preservation of the place where Maradona was found, Javier Mendoza detailed that it was kept closed with seals that only allowed access to the garden. Vadim Mischanchuk, lawyer for psychiatrist Agustina Cosachov, pointed out the logic behind the police describing Maradona as "puffed up" due to the time elapsed since his death. Mischanchuk explained: "When they arrived, death had already occurred."
Diego Olmedo, advisor to psychologist Carlos Díaz, mentioned aspects of Maradona’s medical treatment before his death and reflected on various circumstances related to the case. Olmedo put into perspective the possibility of Maradona dying at another time and place, adding: "Diego could have died 20 years ago in Punta del Este or three months before that November 25, 2020."
Diego Olmedo also shared an exchange he had with one of the present police officers, who explained the significant police presence at Maradona's residence due to his identity. The professional emphasized that the bedroom where Maradona was located was not a "shack," countering claims that minimized its quality. The next hearing in the case is scheduled for this Thursday, with the appearance of four witnesses expected.
The trial hearing revealed significant details about the scene at the residence where Maradona was found dead, with testimonies providing critical elements for clarifying the events surrounding the death of the legendary Argentine footballer.
