The Government suspended layoffs at the company Fate for 15 days following a mediation between the company and the Argentine Tire Workers Union (SUTNA). This measure was activated after the surprising announcement of the definitive closure of the plant in San Fernando, after 80 years of service, and the dismissal of 920 workers who were left on the street. The ruling ordered the layoffs to be annulled, at the same time as it forced to reverse the situation to the state prior to the start of the conflict. For now, both parties must refrain from using force or actions that alter the labor relationship while the negotiation period lasts. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Human Capital, to which the Ministry of Labor depends, expressed through a statement that, prior to the mandatory conciliation, the portfolio headed by Julio Cordero “carried out the administrative instances provided for by the current regulations with the aim of promoting dialogue” between the company and the union. “Suspension agreements were processed under article 223 bis of the Labor Contract Law, one of which was homologated and another is pending ratification, due to the union's negativity.”
