At the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office (MPF), a search was carried out in recent hours in the area of Mount Otto, where several fire outbreaks had originated last week. There, several fuel drums were found. This would confirm the authorities' suspicion of an intentional arson that kept the residents of the Melipal neighborhood on edge and affected about three hectares. Likewise, and as learned by the Noticias Argentinas agency, the procedure was carried out at the home of a family allegedly involved in a land dispute in that sector, and during which at least two drums and other items that were incorporated into the case were seized. In addition, the Provincial Police's Mounted Division will join the operations that will be carried out in the mountain area this summer, in order to prevent new fires in Bariloche and other nearby cities.
