Queen Maxima of the Netherlands arrived in Bariloche on December 26 to celebrate the New Year at the Pilpilcurá ranch, about 75 kilometers from the city center. She, along with her husband King Willem and daughters Catalina, Alexia, and Ariane, landed at Teniente Luis Candelaria Airport on a private jet from El Calafate and quickly moved to their property under a tight security operation. The annual visit attracts the attention of locals and tourists alike. At the ranch, the monarch also met her mother, María del Carmen Cerruti, who was present.
