A fire is developing near the Sanatorio San Carlos in the Río Negro city of Bariloche, and volunteer firefighters from the Central Barracks are fighting to extinguish the flames. The fire started this noon just a few meters from the hospital, located at kilometer 1 of Bustillo Avenue, where personnel from the Provincial Service for Fighting Forest Fires (SPLIF) and local residents were collaborating with buckets of water to calm the situation, as confirmed by the Noticias Argentinas agency with information from local media. Traffic is temporarily interrupted while authorities conduct the emergency operation. The deputy head of SPLIF Bariloche, Nelson Leal, indicated that the fire started "on the slope of Cerro Runge, right behind the sanatorium": "It is advancing quickly down the slope and through the dense vegetation".
The police recommend that the population avoid circulating in the area.
