The camera of the Astropatagonia observatory recorded the light effect caused by the meteorite sighted on Tuesday night in the city of Bariloche. Although the video does not show the path of the rock, it does display the flash that surprised many in the early morning.
According to Daniel Chiesa from Astropatagonia, these phenomena are usually rocks from the solar system that cross Earth's orbit at high speed, igniting upon entering the atmosphere. Due to their small size, their appearance cannot be predicted, which generated excitement among neighbors and tourists who witnessed the event.
Some people reported hearing a noise similar to thunder after seeing the white light. The spectacle was also observed in Chilean cities such as Futrono, Los Lagos, Lanco, Río Bueno, and Valdivia.
