Argentina Airports presented the expansion and remodeling project for the passenger terminal of Bariloche Airport. The project will add 1,750 square meters and increase operational capacity to process up to six flights simultaneously, in a context of strong growth in the number of passengers and air operations. The works, designed in conjunction with ORSNA (Airport System National Regulatory Body) and the Secretariat of Transportation, aim to improve existing infrastructure and create more space in domestic and international boarding areas, in order to optimize the passenger experience and facilitate operations. Bariloche Airport is one of the fastest-growing in the country, with an average of 230,000 passengers per month in 2025, according to statistics accessed by the Argentine News Agency. The expansion will include 1,750 new square meters of terminal and 2,700 square meters of remodeled surface, a new jet bridge to replace and modernize an existing one, two new baggage carousels for domestic arrivals - totaling four-, two new food and beverage outlets, new waiting areas in pre-boarding, and new restrooms. Additionally, a flexible boarding system will be incorporated to increase the number of seats in waiting areas, expanding the offering of commercial and gastronomic establishments and thus improving the user experience with better services within the airport. The presentation took place at an event at the terminal and was led by Aeropuertos Argentina CEO Daniel Ketchibachian and Río Negro Governor Alberto Weretilneck. "This should not be taken for granted: it is impressive," the governor said. Ketchibachian, for his part, stated that Aeropuertos Argentina works jointly with ORSNA and the Secretariat of Transportation to create the conditions that allow airports to absorb the growth in passengers and greater demand for operations from airlines. "We are committed to carrying out all the necessary works to provide airlines and passengers with the best services and comforts to have a great experience. I thank Aeropuertos Argentina for always doing works at our Bariloche airport, which has 2.5 million passengers a year," the governor added. Those present included the Mayor of Bariloche, Walter Cortés; the Director of Infrastructure of Aeropuertos Argentina, Lucas Monsalvo, and the General Manager of the West Business Unit of Aeropuertos Argentina, Sergio Rinaldo, among others. At the opening of the event, the Governor of the province stated that "For a city like Bariloche, which does not stop growing touristically, these works are fundamental as they generate the necessary infrastructure to house said growth. For this, it is essential for public-private action to consolidate it."
