Heroic Police Rescue: Baby Saved from SIDS

A 9-month-old baby who was being breastfed by her mother suffered a sudden death episode, which led the woman to desperately seek help on Provincial Route 306. At that moment, a police team led by Chief Officer Torres was on the scene and acted immediately.

Officer Torres performed resuscitation maneuvers on the girl while his colleagues urgently escorted the police vehicle to the East Hospital. Despite the intense situation, the officers maintained the focus and calm needed to handle the emergency.

Torres, emotional for having been able to save a life for the first time, highlighted the importance of CPR and first aid training for situations like these. The girl, after receiving specialized medical care at Eva Perón Hospital, is now out of danger.

Commissioner Carlos Ruiz praised the preparation and bravery of the police personnel, recalling another case in which Officer Torres assisted a woman in labor on the road. The quick and coordinated intervention of the team allowed for a successful outcome.

Torres described the tense scene in which the mother was seeking help with the baby in her arms, thankful to have provided timely assistance. This is not the first incident in which the officer has participated in a delivery or medical emergency, demonstrating his commitment and professionalism.

From the Ministry of Security, the importance of continuous training for police personnel is emphasized to effectively handle critical situations like the one that occurred. The prompt reaction of the team, combined with CPR knowledge and timely assistance, were key to saving the baby's life in this case of sudden death caused by Brue Syndrome.
