The Police of Santa Fe, through its High-Profile Capture Unit (UCAP), arrested this Sunday “Chami” Mendoza, one of the most wanted fugitives who was on the list of the 10 most wanted criminals in Santa Fe. The arrest operation was carried out early Sunday morning at 2900 Alsina Street, in the city of Rosario. For information leading to Mendoza's identification and location, the Government of Santa Fe had offered a reward of 30 million pesos. In 2018, “Chami” was sentenced to 4 years and 6 months in prison for threats, injuries, concealment, homicide in a brawl, and illegal possession of a firearm. “He is a relevant member of the 'Los Menores' gang, a zone reference and very violent,” said the Minister of Justice and Security of Santa Fe, Pablo Cococcioni. After his arrest, he was taken to the PDI headquarters as a detainee for the necessary administrative procedures before being transferred to a provincial penitentiary unit. Mendoza is at the disposal of the Public Ministry of the Accusation (MPA) for cases related to the handling of firearms and as a member of the 'Los Menores' gang.
