A 33-year-old Colombian citizen has been formally charged with drug trafficking. He already had a history of drug trafficking in Argentina in 2023 when he was expelled, but recently returned to the country illegally to settle in the macrocenter of the Santa Fe city of Rosario. According to Noticias Argentina agency and as indicated by Fiscales.gob, the man identified with the initials V.S.A.F., and known by nicknames such as 'Colombianito' or 'Nene', had been sentenced to 5 years in prison for drug trafficking and possession of weapons. However, he was arrested again during two raids on private homes where over a kilogram of cocaine, other drugs, and weapons were found. The operations correspond to an investigation carried out by the Office of Narcocriminality of the Research and Litigation Area of Complex Cases of the Federal Unit of that Santa Fe city, in coordination with the NEA region of the Prosecutor's Office for Narcocriminality (PROCUNAR). The man had a total of 1,156 grams of cocaine: in a rectangular package of 1,027 grams with a relief stamp of the 'Rolex' logo and two bags with 63 and 66 grams. In addition, a precision scale, two pistols, 266 rounds of 9mm and .38 caliber ammunition, and personal documentation were seized. The charge was filed last Monday by federal prosecutor Matías Scilabra and co-prosecutor Matías Mené, in a hearing for the formalization of the criminal investigation held before Guarantees Judge Carlos Vera Barros. At that hearing, the representatives of the MPF requested that preventive prison be imposed on the accused, which was ordered for a period of 180 days. The accused participated remotely from his place of detention and only requested that the Colombian Consulate be notified of his procedural status.
