A drug cartel led by Alejandro 'Chucky Monedita' Núñez was dismantled in Santa Fe province on the eve of Christmas. During more than 30 raids at various locations in the province, 12 accused individuals were detained and a large quantity of drugs was seized. In recent hours, authorities stated that a total of 39 simultaneous operations were carried out in the Tablada neighborhood and in the south of Rosario, as part of an investigation into drug sales and shooting incidents that occurred some time ago. According to information accessed by the Argentine News Agency, the investigation began with several complaints from residents about drug trafficking and various episodes of violence. Over two months, undercover field work, surveillance of suspects, and analysis of information were conducted, which allowed the identification of different drug groups operating in the area and their modus operandi. Through wiretaps, investigators managed to reconstruct the roles within the organization led by 'Chucky Monedita', who is currently detained in the Piñero penitentiary and convicted of two murders classified as narco-terrorist. In these communications, the actions of band members and the so-called 'soldiers' who answered to his wife, Brenda 'La Cote' Pared, and his sister-in-law, Jessica 'La Fea' González, both high-profile prisoners, were identified. The Raids One of the operations was carried out in a hallway house located at Colón 3900, where two women lived with their children. Additionally, a detection dog marked a hidden bag containing more than $10 million. In another home, identified by the investigation as a distribution point, agents seized a green fanny pack with several balls of already portioned cocaine, chunks of marijuana ready for sale, a precision scale, portioning elements, and money in small denominations. Another house, located on Presidente Quintana 290 bis, was also searched, where three firearms with ammunition, a large amount of cash, a bill counter, and several cell phones were found. As a result of the operation, twelve people were arrested and eight others were apprehended. It was indicated that among the accused is a woman identified by investigators as one of the most prominent figures in the band. 'In total, more than a kilogram of compact and portioned cocaine, marijuana, three firearms, precision scales, cutting elements, cell phones, and more than $15 million were seized,' they commented. The operation was carried out by the Investigations Police (PDI), with the collaboration of the TOE (Special Operations Troops), GIRI (Intervention and Flood Rescue Group, or similar), GOT (Tactical Operations Group), and GTM (Multi-Purpose Tactical Group) of the Santa Fe Police. When searching the house, the police found a black bag containing a brick of compact cocaine.
