Buenos Aires, November 29 (NA) – Dylan Cantero, son of the founder of the band "Los Monos," was arrested in Rosario along with seven people directly linked to the narco-criminal organization during an operation at the Dr. Clemente Álvarez Emergency Hospital.
According to official sources reported to the Argentine News Agency, the Federal Department of Investigations (DFI) of the Federal Police was in charge of making the arrests as part of the "Plan Bandera" initiative, which aims to combat drug trafficking in Santa Fe.
The operation included eight raids ordered by the Rosario First Instance Judges' College, under Judge Rodrigo Santana, and by prosecutor César Luis Pierantoni of the Ministry of Public Prosecution.
Cantero, who had been shot by hitmen in front of his home days earlier, was arrested while hospitalized for his injuries. His girlfriend, sister, and brother-in-law were also detained. During the operation, four phones, a vehicle, gold jewelry, a watch, and 1,825,000 pesos were seized.
In other procedures conducted at residences linked to his family circle, three more suspects—two women and one man—were apprehended. There, the Federal Police seized 25 cell phones, three tablets, a 9mm weapon with ammunition, prepaid cards, and 200 dollars.
All detainees, who are Argentine adults, are at the disposal of the Justice for violating Law 23.737. The DFI has dismantled the operational core of a narcostructure linked to "Los Monos" that had been under investigation since September.
