Merchant Kidnapped in Rosario During Vehicle Sale Scam

A 56-year-old merchant experienced a traumatic event when he was deceived by a fake buyer interested in his vehicle and ended up kidnapped in the south of Rosario. The victim had published his 2016 Chevrolet Onix on a buying-selling platform and arranged a meeting with an individual named Pablo through Facebook Marketplace.

The unfortunate meeting took place at San Martín and Circunvalación, a peripheral area of Rosario, where the merchant was surrounded by seven armed individuals. He was subdued, hooded, tied up, and forced to get into his own vehicle, a gray Onix. The assailants took 200,000 pesos in cash, the keys to his house, and his cell phone.

During a short period of confinement, the man was abandoned in his car at the intersection of provincial route 18 and A012, in La Carolina. Fortunately, he was assisted by personnel from the Rural Guard Los Pumas, to whom he recounted what had happened. The robbery was reported at the 8th Sub-Police Station of Alvear and communicated to the Prosecutor’s Office of Flagrancy in charge of Pablo Lanza.

The merchant mentioned: "I was deceived under the pretense of selling my car and ended up being a victim of a kidnapping. I thank the prompt intervention of the Rural Guard Los Pumas who assisted me in this very difficult situation."
