The Italian consulates in Argentina have opened new slots for citizenship applications based on jus sanguinis. These slots vary by city, including Rosario, La Plata, and Buenos Aires, providing opportunities for many Argentines to obtain Italian citizenship.

New Appointments for Italian Citizenship in Argentina

The Italian consulates in Argentina have opened new appointments to process citizenship by right of blood, also known as iure sanguinis, and for direct adult children. Obtaining Italian citizenship is a goal for many Argentines of European descent.

Regarding appointments for processing Italian citizenship, these vary by consulate. In Rosario, for example, they are made available on specific days and times according to the type of procedure. In La Plata, appointments are offered on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 9 PM. In Buenos Aires, they are published from Sunday to Thursday at 7 PM. In Mendoza, appointments are available on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at 8 PM.

The system for scheduling an appointment is through Prenot@mi. You must create a user on the platform, log in with your personal information, check the availability of appointments, select one on the corresponding date and time, and attach a copy of the ID when completing the application.

To manage citizenship at the Consulate of Rosario, it is necessary to reside within its jurisdiction, which includes the provinces of Santa Fe, Chaco, Formosa, Entre Ríos, Corrientes, Misiones, and the northern part of Buenos Aires. Italian citizenship iure sanguinis or by right of blood is passed from parents to children and is regulated by Law No. 91, with requirements that vary according to the line of descent.
