Gendarmes Save Choking Baby in Rosario

A group of gendarmes assisted a baby who was choking, and thanks to their swift action, it was confirmed that the minor is in good health.

The incident occurred a few days ago when a National Gendarmerie patrol was patrolling the city of Rosario. Upon arriving at the intersection of Casilda and Liniers streets, they observed a group of residents asking for help.

According to the report accessed by the Argentine News Agency, the officers approached and saw a woman holding a one-and-a-half-year-old child who was showing symptoms of suffocation.

Immediately, the agents took the baby and began performing first maneuvers to clear the airways. Seconds later, they managed to get the minor to expel saliva, which normalized her breathing.

With the mother's authorization, the girl was transferred to the Carrasco Hospital, where she was admitted with a diagnosis of "unstable patient with fever," and a transfer to a specialized pediatric hospital was recommended.

For this reason, they headed to the Children's Sanatorium, located on Córdoba and Alvear streets, where she was referred to the Neurology Service for further studies.

The minor remained under observation for several hours, and it was confirmed that she is out of danger.
