The intervention of the Prosecutor's Office is for events that occurred on December 21 in the El Carmen neighborhood of Rosario de Lerma, when local police officers intervened after receiving reports of noise and public drinking. 'While drawing up violation reports, some of the offenders became violent and, with the support of other people who came out of nearby houses, attacked the agents,' reported the Provincial Public Prosecutor's Office. During the attack, police officers were punched and kicked, blunt objects were thrown at them, damage was caused to the police vehicle and a private car, and the police helmet worn by one of the officers was stolen. According to the Argentine News Agency, when more police units were requested, the attackers fled. As the investigation progressed, 10 suspects were identified, and with the participation of the General Directorate of Investigations, raids were carried out at residences linked to the suspects, where items of interest were seized. Prosecutor Escalante stated that the investigation is ongoing and that, to date, three of the suspects have been charged and remain in custody.
