Mario Alberto Gómez, 38 years old, died in a tragic domestic accident when he was hit in the chest by a blade of a fan he was repairing. The incident occurred on Friday afternoon at a house on Bogotá Street 2700 in the city of Resistencia, Chaco province.
According to local media, Gómez was trying to fix a fan using a pressure washer motor and, recklessly, connected the device directly to the electric current without considering basic safety measures, such as a protective grill and a proper power plug. As a result, one of the blades detached and embedded itself in his chest, causing a serious wound in the sternum area.
Despite being able to call for help, Gómez died before emergency services could assist him. Agents from the Fourth Police Station arrived at the scene and found the man lying on the sidewalk, while medical personnel confirmed his death at the accident site.
