Pilar launches hydraulic works

In the Pilar municipality, located in Buenos Aires Province, a major hydraulic project has begun to improve the drainage system. Local mayor Federico Achával walked the site, describing it as a “fundamental intervention” needed to address long‑standing water‑logging issues in the city centre, especially during heavy rains. The works involve installing new pipes and auxiliary structures designed to enhance water flow from streets and connect to the main Luján River drainage network. Authorities say the aim is to improve traffic flow and protect commercial fronts from flooding. Over the coming weeks, temporary traffic re‑routing with signage and staged schedules will be implemented to minimise congestion in the micro‑downtown.
