Trial Begins for Murder of Engineer Wolfenson in Pilar

The oral trial for the murder of engineer Roberto Wolfenson, which occurred on February 22, 2024, in the La Delfina gated community in Pilar, begins this Monday, November 3, at the Criminal Oral Court No. 4 in San Isidro. The accused is Rosalía Soledad Paniagua, the victim's domestic employee. She will be tried for the crime of qualified robbery due to the improper use of a weapon in conjunction with homicide for criminal gain. This means that during her time as Wolfenson's employee, she stole objects from his house and, to conceal that crime, she murdered him.

The investigation began on February 23, when the engineer's piano teacher, as usual, went to his house for a lesson, but received no response that day. An officer from the Pilar police station was key to launching an investigation, which, through the autopsy, determined that Wolfenson had been murdered and died by strangulation with a cord.

Initially, the investigation focused on other individuals, such as the engineer's partner, but the truth was eventually uncovered. Security cameras were key to confirming that Paniagua, who was acting as a substitute, was the perpetrator of the crime. A camera at the train station saw her with a cell phone that was not hers, as well as with bandages because she had been injured. All these clues led to a raid on her home, where it was confirmed that she had objects belonging to the victim, which is why she was arrested. Despite maintaining her innocence and even blaming a man named Félix, whom she claimed was Wolfenson's lover, the case was closed, and now the accused is being tried for the murder of the engineer.
