Pilar Advances New Drainage System to Combat Flooding

The Municipality of Pilar is advancing with a hydraulic project in the El Rocio neighborhood (Manuel Alberti) aimed at improving storm drainage and reducing flooding in an area with a history of complaints. The municipality emphasized that drainage planning is part of a 'neighborhood by neighborhood' intervention scheme, focusing on critical points. Mayor Federico Achával toured the site and supervised the progress of the new drainage system. According to reports, the project involves over 2 kilometers of piping from the neighborhood's center to the Pan-American Highway collector, with the goal of facilitating rainwater circulation and organizing runoff. The local executive branch states that the project seeks to address a structural issue in the area by combining hydraulic infrastructure and urban improvements related to the neighborhood's daily functioning, especially during intense storms. Head of Infrastructure Luis Bonfante also participated in the tour.
