In the province of Jujuy, an officer was detained after being accused of participating in a robbery. According to the complaint, the agent, accompanied by two motorcycle thieves, subdued a taxi driver at gunpoint to steal his belongings and then fled the scene.
A taxi driver alerted 911 reporting that he was robbed by two armed motorcycle thieves who stripped him of his valuables. The police arrived at the location and, after a preventive patrol in the area, spotted the suspects escaping on a motorcycle. A chase then began, culminating in the capture of the suspects at the intersection of Iriarte and Túpac Amaru passage in the Gorriti neighborhood.
During the identification of the detainees, it was discovered that the motorcycle driver was a police officer working in a precinct of Regional Unit 8 in Palpalá. The actions were sent to the zonal assistant prosecutor, who requested the immediate detention of the officer and his accomplice. The preventive seizure of the firearm used in the robbery was also requested to determine if it belongs to the force and if it was fired.
