Correo Argentino has launched the first robotic package sorting system in Latin America at its logistics plant in Monte Grande, installed by a postal operator. This technology will triple the company's operational capacity nationwide.
The new robotic system, known as a sorter, operates with 240 autonomous robots over an area of 1,180 square meters. It integrates artificial intelligence, sensors, and intelligent routing algorithms and can process up to 9,000 packages per hour.
The commissioning of this equipment marks a milestone in the company's logistics modernization process and represents the official start of the comprehensive automation plan for 2026.
The installation features 13 induction posts, enabling a continuous flow of packages, and 130 sorting exits, optimizing processing times and minimizing error margins.
"We are a technology company specializing in logistics," said Camilo Baldini, President and CEO of Correo Argentino. "We incorporate innovative solutions that follow global standards and apply them to our greatest strength: our network and unique territoriality."
According to official data, Correo Argentino reversed a deficit of 113,000 million pesos in 2023 and reached a surplus of 48,000 million pesos by June 2025, in addition to contributing 34,000 million pesos to the National Treasury.
"Since November 2024, we have operated without state funds, and today we are returning value to Argentines," Baldini highlighted.
The system is designed for small and medium-sized packages of up to five kilograms, which represent the bulk of the flow of national and international e-commerce.
As part of the roadmap for 2026, the company plans to complete the full automation of the Monte Grande plant and incorporate new technologies, including: a second sorter for packages up to 30 kg, RFID technology for real-time traceability of items and containers, industrial weighers for automatic billing control, and Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV) for the robotic movement of containers.
With these investments, Correo Argentino seeks to consolidate its transition towards an intelligent logistics model, focused on the growth of e-commerce and parcel services, and strengthen its competitiveness in an expanding market.
