The government of Buenos Aires province has advanced with the tender for a sewerage work in Mercedes, aimed at expanding networks and household connections in the localities of Agote and Gowland, with an estimated impact on more than 2,500 residents. The opening of bids was held with 26 offers presented, in a process that is part of the scheme for expanding sanitary infrastructure in the interior of Buenos Aires. According to the Argentine News Agency, the project has an official budget of $9,080,085,126.70 and a 540-calendar-day construction period, with bids accepted until January 28. The municipality states that the network expansion aims to reduce historical deficits in areas that have grown in density and require a response for basic services, in a scenario where sanitation has become a management demand due to its link with health and the environment. The work will also improve urban conditions and reduce health risks associated with effluents and wells, in addition to organizing development in areas with residential expansion.
