A Godoy Cruz fan has been sanctioned with two years of prohibition from accessing football stadiums for assaulting security personnel before a match against River. The decision was made by the Ministry of Security of the Nation and signed by Minister Patricia Bullrich in Resolution 277/2025 of this week's Official Bulletin.
According to the Operational Planning Directorate of the Ministry of Security and Justice of Mendoza, the unfortunate incident took place on February 12 at the entrance of the Estadio Malvinas Argentinas, when the fan violently assaulted a member of private security with punches. As a consequence of his actions, the aggressor was arrested and taken to Police Station 6, where a criminal process was initiated against him for assault.
On that day, despite the disturbance from previous incidents, the match between Godoy Cruz and River was able to take place, resulting in a goalless draw. Due to the appropriate actions of the authorities and the application of disciplinary measures, it is expected that such violent behaviors will be completely eradicated from sporting events.
