The main referee Yael Faclón Pérez commented on what happened in the match, stating that there were no possibilities of continuing and highlighting that they would not allow anyone to get hurt. While the forward Cristian Tarragona of Talleres requested that they be declared the winners of the match, he stated that it was not the players' fault, but that of uncivilized people. They recalled the past incident between Godoy Cruz and San Lorenzo, stating that it could not be allowed to happen again.

The Talleres coach, Alexander Medina, mentioned that the assistant referee, Diego Martín, was not in a position to continue after being hit by an object thrown by a Godoy Cruz fan. In contrast, the Godoy Cruz coach, Ernesto Pedernera, admitted that he was not close to the action but expressed his disagreement with how the match ended.

The incident occurred during halftime of the match valid for the third round of the Apertura Tournament of the Professional Football League when the linesman was hit by an object thrown from the stands by a supporter of the local team. Medina lamented what happened and emphasized the importance of eradicating such behaviors from football to ensure the integrity of all involved. Pedernera, although far from the action, expressed his sadness and disapproval of the situation, highlighting that there are always people with bad intentions in any fanbase.
