A woman died from severe burns inflicted by her ex-partner who set their home on fire. Both she and her son sustained critical injuries, sparking legal action against the suspect.

In the province of Mendoza, a woman lost her life after a fire set by her ex-partner in her home. The aggressor, identified as Celedón, was arrested at the scene but is hospitalized due to the injuries he sustained during the fire.

The alleged aggressor will now face charges of femicide, serious injuries, and attempted homicide for the injuries inflicted on his son during the incident. Despite this, the indictment hearing has not yet been held, as the individual remains sedated.

Firefighters reported that the fire caused total damage in the kitchen, a room, and the laundry area of the house. The victim, Verónica Magallanes, 49 years old, suffered burns on 90% of her body, while her son, Mariano Celedón, 32 years old, is also in serious condition, with burns on 90% of his body.

After several hours of stabilization, Verónica Magallanes passed away at the Lagomaggiore Hospital. The aggressor, identified as R., is a former police officer involved in this tragic incident.
