Mendoza's Energy Potential Showcased at AOG 2024

At the Argentina Oil & Gas Expo 2024, Mendoza officials presented the province's potential in unconventional oil resources, aiming to attract investments and boost the economy. Innovative policies were highlighted to enhance production and infrastructure. The event showcased over 10,000 visitors including national and international stakeholders interested in hydrocarbons.


Mendoza's Energy Potential Showcased at AOG 2024

Mendoza concluded its participation in the Argentina Oil & Gas Expo Patagonia 2024 (AOG) successfully by presenting its potential in the energy sector. At the event, the Mendocinian team led by the Minister of Energy and Environment, Jimena Latorre, the Undersecretary of Energy and Mining, Manuel Sánchez Bandini, and the Director of Hydrocarbons, Lucas Erio, presented the incentive policies aimed at attracting investments in hydrocarbons and promoting energy growth in the region.

During their participation, they highlighted the opportunities offered by the province, long-term plans, human resources, infrastructure prospects, and facilitating policies for producers in the sector. Latorre pointed out that the goal is for investors to develop profitable activities to increase provincial revenues.

At the exhibition, Mendoza's potential in unconventional resources, pipeline infrastructure, gas pipelines, and refining, as well as the region's capacity to develop these resources, were emphasized. Additionally, the model of continuous bidding and the assignment of mature areas by YPF for operation by smaller companies was highlighted.

Regarding technology and innovation, the 3rd Day of Digital (R)evolution and Technological Innovation for Oil and Gas (JRED3) was held, where topics such as data science, analysis, artificial intelligence, geomatics, industrial cybersecurity, among others, were addressed.

At this fair, which brought together various stakeholders in the industry, the importance of increasing production in mature fields was also focused on. Latorre emphasized the relevance of understanding the potential and direction in which the activity wants to be developed, seeking shared efforts between the private sector and the State to promote efficiency and growth in hydrocarbon production.
