This morning, a tragic traffic accident occurred at the intersection of 167 and 32 streets in Melchor Romero. As a result of the incident, Wilfredo Colque, the driver of a Chevrolet Prisma, lost his life, and two other passengers were injured in the vehicles involved.
According to the police report, the fatal accident happened when the Chevrolet Prisma collided with a Toyota Hilux truck, causing the first vehicle to overturn onto its left side. The firefighters from the Melchor Romero Fire Department had to intervene to rescue the occupants of the Chevrolet and transfer them to Melchor Romero Hospital for medical attention.
At the hospital, unfortunately, Wilfredo Colque passed away due to the severe injuries sustained in the accident. The other two occupants of the vehicles, Arnol Abeldano and Jorge Britez Cuevas, are being treated for various polytraumas, but it is reported that they are not in danger of death.
The driver of the Toyota Hilux truck, Andrés García Briguido, has been charged in the case, which is being investigated as negligent homicide and negligent injuries. The Instruction Fiscal Unit (UFI) No. 14, led by Prosecutor María Inés Scarpino, has taken control of the case and has ordered the necessary investigations.
