Morena Rial, 26 years old and daughter of journalist Jorge Rial, was arrested in the Buenos Aires town of Martínez after police intercepted her in a vehicle with an active warrant during a police checkpoint. The young woman was taken to a nearby police station, where she is in custody while authorities investigate her possible involvement in the alleged crime.
The operation took place in the northern area of the greater Buenos Aires and was recorded in a video released by the América channel. The footage shows Morena Rial being escorted by officials to a police vehicle and then being searched against a wall. According to information provided by journalist Ángel De Brito, it is suspected that the occupants of the vehicle in which Morena was traveling may have been involved in a robbery.
In De Brito's words: "It seems that the people in the car had entered to rob a house. That's why the police chased them and arrested them." Currently, Morena Rial is in the hands of the authorities awaiting clarification of her involvement in the incident.
