Brothers Accused of Stealing Cars with Signal Jammers in Mar del Plata

Two brothers are accused of stealing cars with signal jammers in Mar del Plata, and there is concern about the rise of this type of criminal activity at the start of the holidays. The UFI ODA of Berlingeri is acting, along with the Guarantees Court No. 6. The case began in mid-December with complaints about thefts of personal items from parked cars. The first incident occurred on December 16 when a 32-year-old man reported that he had parked his white Amarok truck on Avenida Luro and Francia. Upon returning, he found that thieves, without breaking the glass, had stolen two backpacks containing personal documents, keys to his property, and a computer. Four days later, a 49-year-old man told the police that he had left his black Volkswagen Amarok truck on Salta Street, between Colon and Bolivar, and that when he got into the vehicle, he found that several neoprene wetsuits, credit cards, a battery-powered drill, and clothing had been stolen. Following the reported incidents, police personnel from the Technical Operational Cabinet of the Fourth Precinct managed to establish the vehicle involved in the thefts after reviewing private camera footage, locating the vehicle on Saaveda Street at 5800. In this way, a search and seizure warrant was obtained for the black Suzuki Fun vehicle. During the search, a Viwsonic screen with its black case; a Verbatim wireless mouse; a black Nike Utility 2.0 backpack; a Baofeng frequency jammer with its charging cradle; an NZR854 domain fire extinguisher; a blue bag with gray details; 21 neoprene wetsuits of different brands; and the black Suzuki Fun vehicle were seized. After communicating the result of the judicial diligence to the intervening authority, Fernando Berlingeri, ordered the legal seizure of the items and the notification of the case to the property's residents without adopting a restrictive measure of liberty. The accused are two brothers, aged 29 and 24, who were released. The case was filed as aggravated theft with a pry bar, false key, or other instrument.
