A week after the murder of Matías Paredes, a 26-year-old who was shot by police in Mar del Plata, a march was held on Thursday to demand justice and call for the intervention of the Federal Police in the investigation. The demonstration began at the crime scene in the Bosque Grande neighborhood and then moved to the 16th Police Station, where the confiscated vehicles of both the victim and the police officers are located.

Matías's parents led the march, which was attended by hundreds of participants, including friends, family, and even fans of the Alvarado club, which the murdered young man supported. During the mobilization, Matías's mother fainted but was assisted by those present and managed to continue at the front of the column. Most participants carried banners demanding justice and blue and white balloons in honor of Alvarado club colors.

The tragic incident occurred when police officers intercepted the vehicle Matías was traveling in with his friends. After a presumed confusion about an alleged robbery, the young people attempted to flee, but the officers, without giving a stop order, fired at least seven shots. Matías was hit by four bullets and, despite being taken to the Interzonal General Hospital of Acute Medicine (HIGA), he died from his injuries.

It is worth mentioning that five police officers involved in the incident were detained, particularly highlighting the case of Juan Molina, who faces charges of "double aggravated homicide" for allegedly being the shooter against Paredes. On the other hand, Juan Rufino, Yancamil Masía, Héctor Murray, and Emilio Flores are accused of being "necessary participants" in the case.
