Detention of Suspect in Kiosk Owner Murder Case

A man was arrested in the early hours of Tuesday, and it is being investigated whether he is one of the criminals who killed the kiosk worker Cristian Velázquez during a robbery in the Mar del Plata neighborhood of Peralta Ramos Oeste. According to La Capital de Mar del Plata, the individual, nicknamed 'Nacho', was captured at the entrance of his home on Cuba Street, number 3000, in the Pueyrredón neighborhood, while another identified suspect is subject to a capture request and is known as 'El Guachín'.

Prosecutor Alejandro Pellegrinelli will analyze the evidence that exists in the investigation throughout the day to confirm that the arrested individual and the motorcycle seized from him are connected to the case. To do this, he has security camera footage from the area of Jacinto Peralta Ramos and Irala, where the unfortunate event occurred, and in one of the clips, two men can be seen on a small blue motorcycle, similar to the one seized in the last hours.

Kiosk worker Cristian Velázquez was shot in the head on Monday during a robbery committed by two criminals. Velázquez had suffered between four and six robberies, and this time, according to initial data obtained by investigators, two criminals entered the business where he worked and shot him in the head, after the man attempted to resist with pepper spray, as he had done in April of last year. The assailants escaped without completing the robbery on a small motorcycle.
