Today we received information about meals being distributed in Penal Unit 44 of Batán, in the city of Mar del Plata. The meals, according to one of the inmates, are filled with cockroaches, contain plastics in the food, and are burnt. This situation is causing health problems among the women in the establishment, who claim that the food provided is not enough to sustain them throughout the day.

In a video leaked by several trans women inmates, the regrettable state of the meals they receive in the Batán pavilion can be seen. Each container shows two hamburgers and a bit of white rice infested with insects, evidencing a lack of control in the preparation and preservation of the food.

The images revealed in recent hours show the precarious conditions in which the food is found in Penal Unit 44.
