Around 5:00 PM, a severe storm front, previously warned by the National Weather Service, hit the Mar del Plata coastline, forcing a massive exodus from the beaches. According to the Argentine News Agency, the sudden hailfall and abrupt change in weather conditions forced vacationers to quickly leave the sand to take shelter and protect their vehicles. The southern area was the epicenter of the most serious material damage. Heavy rains in short periods, wind gusts of up to 75 km/h, and persistent electrical activity are forecast, so the population has been urged to take extreme precautions and avoid unnecessary travel on public roads. However, the meteorological alert remains in effect until Tuesday morning. Areas such as Punta Mogotes, Faro Norte, and Punta Cantera recorded large hailstones that broke windshields, glass, and dented car bodies, according to the local 0223 portal. In beach clubs like Playa Guillermo, the storm caused structural damage to tents and furniture. Likewise, the Alfar neighborhood suffered fallen trees on power lines, leading to power outages and the collapse of the Civil Defense and Edea company's complaint lines. Despite the violence of the event and the circulation of shocking videos on social media, authorities reported that there were no injuries.
