Exhibition on Underwater Life and Science Opens in Mar del Plata

In Mar del Plata, an exhibition titled "Vidas Submarinas – Ciencia, arte y soberanía" will be inaugurated this Friday. This free-to-attend event showcases the work of Argentine researchers and aims to foster scientific vocations. The initiative is a collaborative effort between the Buenos Aires Aires provincial ministries of Public Communication, Production, Science and Technological Innovation, AUBASA, the Buenos Aires Cultural Institute, and CONICET Mar del Plata. The exhibition offers an accessible and engaging tour of the main achievements of the "Oasis Submarinos del Cañón Mar del Plata: Talud Continental IV" underwater campaign, conducted between July and August 2025. Organized around three axes—scientific knowledge, sensory experience, and educational activities—the display includes graphic and audiovisual infographics, a photo gallery, an immersive booth, and a scenic installation. Additionally, it features daily workshops for children, with activities involving play, art, technology, and robotics. Throughout January and February, special activities related to sovereignty and scientific dissemination will also take place, with the participation of researchers and specialists from Mar del Plata who were part of the widely broadcast submarine expedition via live streaming. "Vidas Submarinas" will open its doors on Friday, January 16, at 15:00, and can be visited from Tuesday to Sunday, from 15:00 to 21:00, until February 15, at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo MAR, located on Avenida Félix U. Camet and López de Gomara. This project is part of a public policy aimed at guaranteeing free, inclusive, and federal access to science and culture.
