A strong storm with gusty winds, thunderstorms, and hail caused damage in the city within minutes. Among the most affected areas is the section of Entre Ríos Street, between Alberti and Rawson, where at least three trees and a pole fell onto the public road damaging parked vehicles. Neighbors captured images of the scene.
Civil Defense reported that the storm caused the fall of at least 30 trees and poles in different parts of Mar del Plata. The damage was especially severe in the macrocenter of the city. The storm began around 1:30 on Tuesday, fulfilling the warnings of a weather alert issued the day before.
Mara expressed: "We are drowning in Mar del Plata," accompanying her words with an image of fallen trees on cars. Other residents also shared their experiences, noting the intensity of the rain and hail. Users like Galo and Gaby Menta commented on the magnitude of the storm and the impressive amount of falling water.
Preliminary reports indicate that most of the fallen trees were located between Paso and Independencia avenues, extending to the center of Mar del Plata. The weather phenomenon left significant damage in the city, generating alert among its inhabitants.
